1. A Modern Take on the Classic Toy Car

    mis buggie

Mis Buggie (limited edition of 500 copies) is the result of of a collaborative design project between Spain’s AIJU (Technological Institute of the Toy), industrial designer Jorge Vega and illustrator Sea Hernandez.

Their website (in Spanish, here’s an English translation if necessary) has a walkthrough of the toy design & development process–a great tool to teach your kids how things are made!

  2. Red Flannel Elephant

I’m amazed by how much expression and personality illustrator Gretal Park coaxes out of these deceptively simple felted animals!

They are currently unavailable while she fulfills a large order, but her shop Red Flannel Elephant will have more available in mid-June. Check her out on flickr as well–lots of interesting photos!

  3. Projects :: Free Embroidery Pattern from Misako Mimoko

Sharing is one of the coolest aspects of the handmade community, thanks to designers like Eva Monleón. She just posted a super-cool (and free!) embroidery pattern on her blog. It’s based on one of her kettle dolls–looks like fun!

A bit old, but this was simply too cool not to share!

  5. Etsy Finds: Handmade Block Prints

I love these hand carved stamp blocks by Geninne. She also created a wonderful “ABC of Birds” poster for Issue No. 7 of LMNOP magazine.
