Su Blackwell scours second hand bookshops for novels and then spends months carefully cutting each one into an spectacular paper model, only using the pages she cuts from the book itself. Through the Looking Glass, pictured above, is cut from the book of the same name by Lewis Carroll.

Yesterday, to celebrate Candland’s 60th anniversary, Lombard Street in San Francisco was transformed into a life-size version of Candy Land! Kids from UC San Francisco Children’s Hospital and Friends of the Children were divided into four teams of six children to play the game on the 575 feet of switchbacks known as “the crookedest street in the world.”
The original Candy Land was created by Eleanor Abbott while she was recovering from polio as a way to entertain children also recuperating from the disease. The event was held in honor of Abbott’s inspiration. How cool!

Zur Schönen Linde, based in Cologne, has a stunning collection vintage industrial storage and accessories. Even though there seems to be no shortage of pricey vintage industrial furniture these days, the unique combination of refurbished industrial equipment and new materials and colors really make this collection stand out.
I’m not sure about availability outside of Germany, but their site is definitely worth visiting for the eye candy!
You can make your own cookies shaped like 2x2 Lego bricks with this rolling cookie cutter! Unfortunately, the reviews on the Lego site are pretty negative. Lego released a number of other household accessories as well (salt & pepper shakers, storage containers, ice trays, etc.).
