  3. Woodturning Recycled Paper

    Inspired after leav­ing a book out in the rain, Han­nah Lob­ley trans­forms unwanted paper such as cat­a­logs, hol­i­day cards and yel­low pages into beau­ti­ful, one-of-a-kind objects. The dec­o­ra­tive cup and bowl pic­tured above were actu­ally made from old accounts books! She first cre­ates blocks of wood-like mate­r­ial from the paper, which she then forms using tra­di­tional wood­work­ing equip­ment. Beautiful!

  4. Amazing Picture Book Store in Bejing

    In most book­stores, it seems as though the children’s sec­tion was designed as an after­thought (throw in a Brio train table and it’s good to go). That’s obvi­ously not the case with the Kid’s Repub­lic in Bejing, where chil­dren are whisked away into a delight­ful fairy­tale world of color and fan­tasy.
