Inspired after leaving a book out in the rain, Hannah Lobley transforms unwanted paper such as catalogs, holiday cards and yellow pages into beautiful, one-of-a-kind objects. The decorative cup and bowl pictured above were actually made from old accounts books! She first creates blocks of wood-like material from the paper, which she then forms using traditional woodworking equipment. Beautiful!

In most bookstores, it seems as though the children’s section was designed as an afterthought (throw in a Brio train table and it’s good to go). That’s obviously not the case with the Kid’s Republic in Bejing, where children are whisked away into a delightful fairytale world of color and fantasy.
