DIY Adirondack Robe | Crafting with a Cause

My absolute favorite thing to do on Saturday mornings is wake up just a little bit early, make a cup of coffee, and sit in my favorite chair to soak in the quietness. I know the house will quickly fill with laughter and to-do lists, so these few moments of silence are just what I need to recuperate from the week. What would make this moment better? Wrapping up in my favorite robe. A robe that I made. A robe that fits me perfectly.

This week’s Handmade with Love pick is the Adirondack Lounge Dweller Robe Kit. This is the perfect project for sewers new to quilting because you will learn how to work with batting, construct a garment, and use a free-motion quilting foot. The kit does not include batting in order for you to be able to completely customize the fit and structure, and allows this robe to be perfect for you in every season.  For example, if you want a robe simply for comfort, you might want to choose a light cotton or polyester fleece or a thin cotton batting. If you want a cozy and warm robe, you might want to choose a wool or thick natural cotton batting. No matter what batting you choose or unique flare you add, you will look forward to this handcrafted retreat.
