Thanks this, I love wooden toys and saw some great circus ones on three potato four. They remind me of Garcia’s work. I’m going to read up on this.

Do you know where you can buy toys from Torres-Garcia?

  • http://www.handmadecharlotte.com handmade charlotte

Reproductions are available at the Torres García Museum in Montevideo (http://tienda.torresgarcia.org.uy) with prices ranging from $100 to $180. The original toys surface from time to time at auctions, where they command high prices (as an example, a small wooden rocking horse sold for $12,000 in Feb. 2009).

Unfortunately, I don’t have much information for you. It’s a shame the toys are not more readily available, they really are beautiful!
