Take a basic pen­cil, add our not-so-scary print­able mon­ster, and you’ve got a per­fect Hal­loween treat that’s sure to bring smiles!

What You Need

  • Print­able Mon­ster Pen­cil Top­pers (down­load here)
  • Pen­cils
  • Wig­gle eyes & craft glue (optional)

Step 1
Print the pen­cil top­pers onto card stock. Cut out each mon­ster, trim­ming just inside the dot­ted line.

Step 2
Punch a hole on each cir­cle. Because most pen­cils are a tad larger than a stan­dard hole punch, after you punch the hole, shift the punch slightly and punch again to enlarge the hole. It will take out a sliv­ered moon shape.

Step 3
Slide the pen­cil through the holes, flex­ing the pen­cil top­per a bit. You’ll find that it’s eas­ier to work from the bot­tom of the pen­cil instead of the eraser end.

Step 4
When the mon­ster is at the top of the pen­cil, you can smooth out the curve in the paper so it lays against the pen­cil more.

Step 5
For extra per­son­al­ity and to make your mon­sters even more fun, glue some wig­gle eyes over the printed eyes!

Hand these out to trick-or-treaters, use them for a school party, or just enjoy hav­ing mon­sters around as you work. Your kids may even like doing a lit­tle mon­ster pup­pet show with them!
