Climbing Wall Makes A Much More Interesting Treadmill

Climbing is a great way for kids to learn fundamental coordination skills (as well as get some serious exercise). But the heights can be dangerous and scary for some, not to mention the cost to locate and build a climbing wall. The ClimbStation is basically like a vertical treadmill for climbers, eliminating the need for a safety harness because you never get more than a few feet off of the ground.

After selecting a climbing level from 1–12, you climb at your own speed. If you’re fast, the wall rotates faster, if you stop to think about your next move (climbing is very much a mental sport as well as physical), the wall will slow down and stop if necessary to keep you in its centre. It can also tilt between +15 degrees and minus 39 degrees (for the more adventurous).

Check out the videos of it in action, it’s super-cool!
