Ice cream is always a good idea in the hot months of summer, but occasionally it can use a little extra something to make it special. Enter magic shell. I don’t know what it is about that solid layer of chocolate, but it elevates ice cream to a whole new level. It’s also incredibly simple to make at home. Two basic ingredients (and a little pinch of salt) are all you need to bring the magic into your own kitchen.
What You Need
- 1 cup white chocolate chip (you can use regular chocolate chips here, if you prefer)
- 3 tablespoons coconut oil
- Pinch of salt
Place all three ingredients in a microwave safe dish. Melt together, stopping the microwave and stirring every 30 seconds or so, until the mixture is melted and completely smooth. Cool to room temperature, and then pour over ice cream.
