How To Make Flower Petal White Chocolate Bowls

Flower Petal White Chocolate Bowl Recipe

I’ve sort of had a thing for edible bowls lately. Nothing gets my kids more excited about eating than being able to bite right through their dishes! My girls were especially excited about these flower petal chocolate bowls. We filled them full of ice cream, but you could put in anything your heart desires, provided that it’s cold. Berries, yogurt, puddings, even your morning cereal could get a dose of fancy by being served in these little bowls.

You don’t need to use pink, either. Candy melts come in all sorts of colors. Why not make a bowl with streaks of multiple colors?! You can usually find candy melts in the cake decorating section of craft stores or even in the wedding aisles of some supermarkets.

Step 1
Blow up the water balloons to about the size of your fist, or slightly larger. Tie the balloon ends in a knot.

Step 2
Melt the white candy melts in a mixing bowl by microwaving at 30 second intervals and stirring with a rubber spatula until melted. Melt the pink candy melts in a separate mixing bowl in the same manner.

Step 3
Pour a small amount of pink chocolate into the center of the melted white chocolate. Using a toothpick, swirl the chocolate by dragging the toothpick through the chocolate from the outside of the pink circle into the center. Move it from the center of the pink chocolate out into the white chocolate. Repeat until you have a streaky, flower-like design.

Step 4
Hold a balloon by the knotted end and dip it into the center of the melted chocolate. Rock the balloon down into the chocolate on every side (front, back, and side to side). Pull the balloon out of the chocolate and allow any excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl for about 20 seconds.

Step 5
Place the chocolate dipped balloon on a non-stick mat or sheet of parchment paper. Repeat with remaining balloons. Allow to set for several hours, or until chocolate has completely hardened.

Step 6
When chocolate is hard, take the safety pin and pop the balloons. Very carefully peel the balloons out of the chocolate bowls. Fill the cups with ice cream or whatever else you desire and serve!
