Introducing The Big Book of Mod Podge

The Big Book of Mod Podge

We’ve been chomping at the bit to introduce you to the Big Book of Mod Podge. This truly big book featuring new techniques made with everyones favorite craft supply exceeded our expectations and we’re giving it an A+! Handmade Charlotte was lucky enough to contribute a fun kids party project that we know you’ll love! Oh my goodness, when you start flipping through the pages you’ll want to block off an entire weekend and buy a gallon of Mod Podge. Yes, they actually sell it in gallon sizes—I know this because I bought one!

Everyone has a Mod Podge story. A few years ago I met the inventor of Mod Podge, Jan Wetstone, and was blown away by how inspiring she was. If you’ve crafted for any length of time you’ve probably been lured in by the iconic ’60s hot pink and orange bottle (that hasn’t changed since day one). Jan was a genius ahead of her time and I find it truly amazing (but not that surprising) that after all of these years, makers everywhere are still obsessed.

Big Book of Mod Podge: The Animal Party Parade Birthday Kit

We can’t wait for you to check out our tutorial contribution: The Animal Party Parade Birthday Kit, made with free printables and our super new fave, Mod Melts. You get to melt the cutest shapes into the Mod Melt trays and in about thirty seconds, they’re done! Cake toppers, invitations, party blowers, and hats are all included. Once you’re done with our project I’m pretty sure you’ll be dog-earring more than half of the book. Here’s a sneak peak of us making the animal party hat to give you an idea of what you’re in for:

My incredibly creative friend Ashley Rush (who I just happened to make some bathing suits with today), has been tackling all the projects, one by one! But really, she’s actually planning on bringing every project in the entire book to life, so I’m sure I’ll be seeing some of them pop up around Christmas time. Her Christmas gifts are always handmade, and all of the craft ideas in this book would make perfect gifts.  Now we’re thinking of adopting the same idea to get started on them early (as in now)! I love a good craft challenge and being ahead of the game, so avoiding that 24-hour-rush (no pun intended) on Christmas Eve sounds pretty appealing.
