Headbands are a sweet way to dress up an ensemble and tame fly-aways. In fact, they’re my favorite way to accessorize! I’m constantly looking for new headband ideas so I can make one to match every outfit. With this cool headband printable, now you and your child can mix and match your own designs!
What You Need
- Printable Mix & Match Headbands templates (download here)
- Card stock (I used kraft paper card stock)
- Simple plastic headband
- Craft glue
Print the template onto the card stock. Basic white will work, but colors are fun too! Choose a base piece and cut it out.
Cut small strips of felt and glue only the ends of 2 to 3 pieces to the back of your base piece as shown above. Keep the center of each strip free of glue and loose. This is where the headband will slide through later.
Cut out some decorations. You can use the the happy shapes in the template to cut the felt then add them onto your headband! I cut out a star that’s a little larger than the one in the template so that I could layer them.
Glue the decorations on the front of the headband piece.
After the tabs on the back have completely dried, slide the plastic headband through the tabs.
Don’t be afraid to get creative with the felt bits. It’s so easy to design these accessories that you’ll want to make a bunch of them!
The best part is that you can slide the card stock piece off and add a new one onto the same plastic headband. Just don’t get caught in the rain wearing one of these!
