Very Berry Fruit Spread Is The Perfect Summertime Snack

DIY Healthy Turtle Snack Recipe

I love being a sneaky mom – one who sneaks every possible ounce of nutrition into a favorite food! Lately I’ve been having a blast sneaking PediaSure’s new Smoothie Sidekicks into just about every meal. They pack all the nutrients my kiddos need, and with a dash here or a sprinkle there, they make me feel like a culinary magician (which is actually super appropriate because our kitchen is sometimes a bit of a circus!)

DIY Healthy Turtle Apples

The littles have been wanting to go to the aquarium all summer long. But when everyone is running in all different directions at all different times, family excursions are often easier said than done. Until we make the trip, I decided to bring the aquarium to them!

Our latest kitchen creation is a delicious yogurt-based fruit dip perfect for summer snack times. We had fun testing out all sorts of things to pair it with, and found that green apples were the best! We also found that, if sliced just right, they look exactly like sea turtles. This was of course was my eureka moment!

Fresh fruit is abundantly available this time of year, so whipping up these tasty turtle treats is super easy. And with the help of PediaSure, you can sneak some extra calcium, vitamin D, fiber, and potassium into the mix – resulting in a summer snack the entire gang can get on board with!

What You Need

*Note: You only need one apple, one grape, and one orange for each scene.

How-To

Mix the PediaSure SideKicks Fruit & Veggie Smoothie Mix into the Greek Yogurt with a spoon. Make sure to get it nice and blended! After everything is all stirred up, simply transfer to a serving bowl of your choice. One scoop to 16 ounces should do the trick! Slice up an orange into tiny triangles and arrange them around the dish to add a splash of sunshine to the scene.

Now it’s turtle time! Take your green apple and slice it in half, so that it looks like a circle when placed flat on the table. This will be your shell. Cut this piece into thirds, lengthwise. Then take the other half of your apple and cut from it two thin slices. Cut each of these slices in half, this time widthwise, and place them on all four sides of your turtle to create little legs.
