My daughter Isabella’s friend Autumn and her mother Carissa came by today bearing a wonderful gift—two glass jars filled with creamy, white milk! I’m planning on using it to make butter once I pasteurize the milk (hence the ominous “not for human consumption” warning on the label).
Raw milk is fairly easy to come by just about anywhere (in my case, from My Dad and Me Family Farm), just be aware of any local regulations. Here’s a recipe for homemade butter, it will knock your socks off!
