The Coolest Wooden Blocks

It’s no secret that we’re big fans of wooden toys and blocks. Over the years, we’ve shared some really neat wooden blocks (check out this post from almost eight years ago!) but today we wanted to share a more up-to-date look at a few of our current favorites that are still available.

The Coolest Wooden Blocks

Etched Wooden Blocks from Crate & Kids
This beautiful set comes from designer Elizabeth Olwen and we couldn’t love them more. The combination of white illustrations and etched wood is darling and would make for an excellent baby shower or first birthday gift.

The Coolest Wooden Blocks

Magnetron Magnetic Wooden Blocks Future Collection from Tegu
This set from Tegu is beyond cool. With magnets built into each wooden block, kids and mix, match, and build like never before. This set is all about the future – kids can build a solar station and friendly robot Magnetron, or create something completely new.

The Coolest Wooden Blocks

Village Building Blocks Set from Raduga Grez
These naturally-colored blocks are the perfect set to build a castle, village, neighborhood, or whatever your heart desires. Made of lime wood and colored using traditional water-based stains, these blocks are handcrafted in Russia by a third-generation toymaker family.

The Coolest Wooden Blocks

Foreign Language Blocks from Uncommon Goods
Learn more than just your ABCs with these educational blocks! Kids will love being introduced to Mandarin, Italian, or Spanish and their beautiful design doesn’t hurt either. Plus, these blocks are handcrafted in Michigan and use only non-toxic inks.

The Coolest Wooden Blocks

Garden City Mega Set from Blockitecture
This tower block set was designed by James Paulius and is recommended for kids aged 6 plus. We love the modern shapes and the combination of cityscape and natural green space too.

The Coolest Wooden Blocks

Animal Town Wooden Building Blocks from Petit Collage
One of our all-time favorites, this 26-block set from Petit Collage is a classic. Little ones will love exploring shapes, colors, and patterns as they play with these chunky wooden blocks perfect for stacking.
The Coolest Wooden Blocks

Wooden Block Train Toy from Melissa and Doug
Not only does this train include stacking wooden blocks, but kids can even pull it behind them and get the train on the move! These muted pastel colors make this set a lovely gift for baby showers and a perfect way to decorate a nursery.

The Coolest Wooden Blocks

Soft Baby Building Blocks from Love Charlie xo
And finally, we had to include this honorary mention! These blocks are not made from wood, but 100% BPA free food grade silicone. Perfect for the littlest hands, these soft blocks can be used in the bath, for sensory play, or even teething!
