DIY Sushi Socks

Who’s hungry? Just kidding, this sushi isn’t edible but it is adorable! Turn regular socks into these fun DIY sushi rolls – they make the perfect gift! We love turning something boring into a super fun surprise, and you only need two things to make this project yourself: socks and pins!

You’ve probably seen diapers and onesies rolled into cute little sushi trays for baby showers but for this project we wanted to put a kid-friendly spin on it so that everyone can enjoy these sushi socks! Keep reading to see how to make them yourself!

what you need:

  • Socks (white, black, and colored)
  • Pins
  • Empty sushi box (if desired)

how-to:

Step 1
Start by folding your colored sock in half lengthwise and then roll it up as evenly as you can.

Step 2
You should end up with a little spiral like this.

Step 3
Fold your white sock in half lengthwise and then wrap and roll around the colored center in the same way.

Step 4
In the same way, fold the black sock in half and then wrap around the outside.

Step 5
Stick a pin into the edge of the black sock to keep it in place. If your pin has a head on it like ours, pin it underneath one of the layers to keep it hidden.

Repeat with other socks and colors, and top with mini pompoms if you like! If you have an empty sushi box, place the sushi socks in! Or, make your own box using black cardstock to fit your socks exactly. You can also cut some green cardstock to make the sushi socks look even more realistic!

Happy crafting!
