Celebrations seem to come alive when there are fireworks. As a child, I remember watching 4th of July fireworks from my back yard. The noise bothered me, but I loved the way the filled the sky. Now as an adult, I still find them magical!
The sparkle of fireworks is the inspiration for these printable globe decorations. You can print out the templates or make them from regular paper (be sure to have the kids help!). Then, instead of filling the sky, fill a wall with them for a grand display at your next celebration!
What You Need
- Printable Paper Fireworks Globes template (download here)
- Heavy Paper or Card Stock
- Scissors or Paper Cutter
- Hole Punch
- Paper Fasteners (Brads)
Print the pages onto heavy paper or card stock, then cut the strips apart. These are 3/4″ wide, but if you’re using plain paper, you can adjust the width for a different look.
Punch a hole into the end of each strip.
Hold the strips together and push a paper fastener through the holes. Open the prongs on the paper fastener to secure it, and then spread the strips apart. It’s already looking like a firework!
Push a paper fastener through the hole on the opposite end of one of the strips, then add the next strip, and the next. As you add all of the strips, you’ll see the globe start to form. When they are all on the paper fastener, open the prongs to secure the shape.
Tie a string onto the globe and it’s ready for hanging. You can stop with one, but it’s lots more fun to make a whole bunch!
You can give these a different look by gently folding the strips in half before assembling, cutting the strips shorter for smaller globes, hanging them close to the paper fastener, or even flipping the strips so you mainly see white, with a tiny pop of color.
