Grab some green felt, add a face, and glue the pouches together. Then you’re ready to fill them with chocolate coins or rainbow candies!

For a faster option, skip the faces. And if you’re fast on a sewing machine, sewing the pouches doesn’t require any time waiting for the glue to dry.

Make a couple pot of gold favors for your kids, or enough for a whole classroom!

Step 1
Using the template on the first page of the PDF, cut out two pot of gold shapes from green felt.

Step 2
If you want your pot of gold favors to be happy, embroider a face on the front felt piece. (It makes them super cute!)

To do this, use the template as a guide for placement. Thread the needle with black embroidery floss. Use all six strands. Stitch the eyes with french knots and the mouth with a scallop stitch.

Step 3
Run a line of craft or fabric glue along the curve of the pot of gold and attach the front and back pieces together. Let them dry completely before you start to fill them.

Step 4
Once the glue is dry, it’s time to add some treats! For a traditional look, fill the felt pouch with gold chocolate coins.

Step 5
Print and cut out the rainbow cards from the PDF and place one in a cello bag. Slide the filled pot of gold inside and tie the bag with a ribbon. Metallic gold ribbon is a nice touch!

Repeat this process (or better yet, work the steps as an assembly line) to make as many treat favors as you need.

If you want to avoid using chocolate, rainbow candies are a great alternative. This is good for those who don’t care for chocolate or have allergies.

There are lots of candies in rainbow colors, but I love how these licorice pieces stick up out of the pot in rainbow order!

When you gift these treats, kids (or grown-ups) will feel like it’s their lucky day!

And after the candy is gone, the felt pouch can be used for holding other small objects (add a tiny strip of Velcro to make it extra useful!)

Happy crafting :)
