We see a Halloween DIY in your future! These crystal balls are perfect favors for a kids’ party, or they could be used as place cards. You can fill them with candy, small favors, and fortunes, and you could even pass them out on the 31st if you’re really ambitious, or don’t get too much traffic! Oh, OH! These would be fun to give to teachers with their favorite candy inside, and (maybe?!) attach a tag that says, “I see an “A” in my future”. Ha! Passing them out at a class party would be a great idea as well. We have seen some really cute crystal ball items floating around on social media, and just had to create our own version for Halloween this year.
what you need:
- Bath bomb mold
- Frosting cup (like these from Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls, or similar)
- Glitter Spray (diamond dust)
- Silver metallic spray paint
- Spray paint color (ocean mist & soft lilac)
- Candy and favors
Follow the directions on your silver metallic spray paint can to paint the entire outside of the frosting cup. Open your bath bomb mold, and spray the inside following the directions on the glitter spray. Allow to dry.
Now follow the directions on your spray paint to paint the inside of the bath bomb mold again in a color. You will spray right over the glitter spray, but both the shimmer and color will show through the outside. Allow to dry.
Fill the bath bomb mold with wrapped candy and favors, and close it so that the little tabs line up together. Turn your frosting cup upside down, and use scissors to poke a small slit in the bottom of the silver frosting cup. Place the tabs on the ball through the slit. Voila! You have an adorable little crystal ball favor. If you’d like, you may use yarn or string to attach a tag that says “I see candy in your future”, or “I put a spell on you, because you’re mine”.
Happy crafting, and happy Halloween!!
